ROTARY CLUB OF OKE-ONA EGBA START BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN 133 PINTS OF BLOOD DONATED

I am happy to inform you that during a blood donation drive organised by my club- Rotary of Oke-Ona Egba, District 9110 a total number of 133 Pints of Blood was donated.

The blood donation drive took place on Wednesday 21 of october 2009 while a mop up donation was carried out on thursday 22nd october 2009.

The venue was Moshood Abiola Polythenics (MAPOLY) ABEOKUTA, Ogun State WITH OVER 10,000 STUDENTS. 97 pints were donated on the first day while 35 pints were donated on the second day. TE SUPPORTERS OF THIS PROGRAMMES WERE:

As if to encouraged Rotary family members to donate blood, among the blood donors are:

To herald this programme:
Appeals were made on and a live blood donation was done on Gateway Televison (the only state own tv station with highest number of viewer in Ogun stte Nigeria)
THE LIVE PROGRAMME CAME UP ON mONDAY 19, OCTOBER 2009, FROM 9:15am to 9.45am.

Immediately afterward we moved to Moshood Abiola Polythenics (MAPOLY) ABEOKUTA, for A ROAD SHOW AND SENTITIZATION CAMPAIGN, TRACTS ON BLOD DONATION WILL BE DISTRIBUTED.

We were welcomed and encouraged by the Directorate of Student Affiars, The Registrar and ultimately by the Rector(the head) the institution.

Our next plan is to repeat the a similar blood donation drive in another Institution, inconjuction withNATIONAL BLOOD TRANSFUSION SERVICES, OGUNSTATE, and having General Hospital Ijaye Abeokuta ( a state owned secondary health institution) as the beneficiary! Another Rotary club in Abeokuta is already planning to join us on this for a joint project.

OUR ULTIMATE AIM IS TO FORM A VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATON CLUB IN OGUN STATE

ALL THE PROGRAMME ARE BEING ORGANISED AS MEMBERS OF GLOBAL NETWORK FOR BLOOD DONATION- A ROTARIAN ACTION GROUP
